MWT back contact technology

The Metal Wrap Through (MWT) Backcontact technology used in Trienergia modules makes it possible to achieve more powerful and stronger photovoltaic panels, significantly reducing the risk of breakage and microcracks.
Specifically, the electrical contacts are placed exclusively on the back of the cells, eliminating the need for soldering at the connection points and minimising contact stress. Thanks to a special electroconductive component, the cells are applied to a conductive backsheet that acts as a connection for the positive and negative poles of the panel.
The use of the conductive backsheet allows energy to be generated over the entire surface of the photovoltaic module, rather than being confined to the narrow ribbon area.
Using this technology, Trienergia's photovoltaic modules offer higher efficiency (20% higher than conventional modules) and greater reliability thanks to the elimination of soldering points.

Trienergia's contribution to the Transition 5.0 plan

Trienergia is committed to offering high quality solutions thanks to advanced technologies that support the Transition 5.0 plan provided for in Article 38 of Legislative Decree No. 19, published in the Official Gazette on 2 March 2024.
This plan translates into a tax credit to facilitate companies that, in the years 2024 and 2025, invest in equipment located in Italy as part of innovative projects to achieve a reduction in energy consumption.
Trienergia plays a key role in Transition 5.0 by manufacturing photovoltaic panels in Europe, such as the COE-xxxM10EF model with 108 half-cells and N-TYPE TOPCON technology, available in 425 kW and 430 kW power ratings.  This module, with an efficiency of over 21.5%, meets the requirements of the European Union to be eligible for incentives for photovoltaic systems, which are limited to panels produced in member states.
 

An increase in the calculation base of 120% and 140% respectively is foreseen for systems that include the higher efficiency panels provided for in art. 12, paragraph 1, letters b) and c) of Legislative Decree no. 181 of 9 December 2023.
 

An increase of 120% and 140%, respectively, of the calculation basis is envisaged for installations that include the higher efficiency panels envisaged in letters b) and c) of paragraph 1 of Article 12 of Decree-Law 9 December 2023, no. 181, therefore:
 

  • Case a: photovoltaic modules produced in European Union Member States with an efficiency at a module level of at least 21.5 % (basis for tax credit calculation, at 100% of expenditure)
  • Case b: photovoltaic modules with cells, both produced in EU Member States with at least 23.5 % efficiency at cell level (basis for calculating tax credit, at 120 % of expenditure)
  • Case c: modules produced in the EU Member States consisting of bifacial heterojunction cells of silicon or tandem cells produced in the European Union with a cell efficiency of at least 24,0 % (basis for tax credit calculation, at 140% of the expenditure)
