Technology

Trienergia modules harness MWT Backcontact technology, which enables the production of more efficient and durable panels, reducing the risk of fractures and micro-cracks. The Back Contact technology involves having electrical contacts exclusively on the rear side. The cells comprising the photovoltaic module are no longer soldered at the connection points or stressed by contact but instead applied (using a special electro-conductive component) onto a conductive backsheet that serves as the contact and connection for the positive and negative poles of the photovoltaic solar panel.

The use of the conductive backsheet allows the energy to utilize the entire surface of the module to generate power, without necessarily being channeled into the limited surface area of the ribbons.

Applied Cells

Applied Cells

  • LESS THERMAL STRESS
  • NO MICROCRACKS AND BREAKAGES CAUSED BY MECHANICAL STRESS
Higher performance with low irradiance

Higher performance with low irradiance

In MWT modules, the additional passivation layer, compared to standard cells, facilitates the trapping of light near the rear surface, thereby optimizing electron capture. This results in greater energy production under low irradiance conditions, ensuring the customer a wider operational window for their photovoltaic system.

Better response to cracks and breakage

Better response to cracks and breakage

Each MWT solar cell operates individually. When cracks, breaks, or interconnections occur on one cell, the other cells remain functional and are not affected by the issue.

Applied Cells (M6)

Applied Cells (M6)

The absence of RIBBONS makes the module visually more homogeneous, an important advantage especially in residential installations.

In 2023, we upgraded the Trienergia production line to allow the use of larger M6 cells (166.00x166.00mm) compared to the previous M4 cells (162.75x162.75mm). This upgrade increased the contact points of each cell from 61 to 66, resulting in higher energy production. The module dimensions have increased but remain smaller than those of the main competitors, thus maintaining compact modules that are well-positioned on the roof.

 Increased Efficiency

Increased Efficiency

The annual efficiency loss, due to the "physiological" performance decline, with MWT technology significantly improves the initial degradation in the first year from -3.5% to -2% and reduces the annual degradation rate from -0.6% to -0.55% per year.

Less Lead

Less Lead

The absence of ribbons allows us to be even greener and use less than 2 grams of lead per module (ref. 60 cells), reducing lead consumption by almost 90% compared to a standard module. For environmentally conscious customers, this is an additional plus that will make them appreciate the choice of photovoltaics even more.
